Introduction
Designing for speed, savings, and zero waste
Evergreen needed a mobile experience that makes it easy for buyers to discover discounted produce before it spoils. The goal was straightforward: show items fast, reduce browsing friction, and help merchants sell what would otherwise go to waste.
Main Idea
A clean, lightweight interface built around quick decisions
The home screen lists fresh (but soon-to-expire) items from multiple merchants — bananas, potatoes, watermelon, and more — all displayed clearly with pricing, freshness tags, and a “Buy at Discount” CTA.
To keep things simple and fast:
Visual product cards with large images and clear pricing
Prominent CTA button on each item
Color accents to show freshness levels
Easy filters for “Near Me,” “Big Discounts,” and “Last Chance”
A merchant-friendly backend for quick uploads of deteriorating goods
The goal was to reduce decision time: see the item → understand the discount → buy quickly.
This structure helps buyers act fast and merchants clear inventory before spoilage.
A simple app that cuts waste and boosts merchant sales
Conclusion
By keeping the interface clean and the flow direct, Evergreen makes it easy for shoppers to discover deals instantly. The design supports speed, clarity, and purpose, helping local markets save money, reduce food waste, and sell more with less friction.
